E-193 Rector Note

Weekend: E-193
Theme: Know Love, No Fear
Verse: Romans 8:38,39
Dates April 4-7, 2024

In early 2019, I received the call to serve as Rector for the weekend of E-193. Who could have foreseen that four weeks into teaming in March 2020, we would have to halt all NCA Emmaus activities due to the pandemic related to COVID-19? Lesson learned: You may have a plan, but God’s plan will always supersede yours every time. It’s nearly 2024, and four years later, the preparations for the weekend of E-193 have begun.

The weekend theme, “Know Love, No FEAR!” was inspired by the weekend verse I chose: For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39. This verse has had special meaning for me for as long as I can remember, though it wasn’t clear why. However, once I walked on E-153 and joined the NCA Emmaus community, the meaning of these verses became clear. The events, choices, and circumstances that may have shaped us will not separate us from knowing the Love of God, and knowing His agape Love casts out all FEAR.

I remain a humble servant and am ready to lead the team that will serve the pilgrims God has been preparing for four years to send on the weekend. I invite you to join me in praying for the team, and the pilgrims of E-193.

Decolores,
Chris Scholz
