A Message from the "R"

Our weekend theme is from Psalm 115:1. Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. As I look back over the years of my life I can see God’s faithfulness from before the time I was a Christian until now. In the scripture verse I am reminded that the blessings God gives are undeserved and for that reason we are to give God all the praise, worship and thanksgiving for what He has done.

The verse is part of the Psalms 113-118 which are known as the “Songs of the Last Meal.” These songs are still sung in Jewish homes and are acts of praise. The songs are likely the same songs Jesus sang during the last Passover meal with his disciples. After this meal Jesus left for Gethsemane aware that He would soon die and rise again to new life so that we would be brought back to a saving relationship with the Father.

In 1Peter 4:11, scripture tells us “whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”

Everything we are and everything we have is from the Lord. Glorifying God usually comes in the form of praise, whether singing, saying, or praying, praise God’s name.

The team of E-154 is excited to share the love of Christ with the pilgrims that God will be bringing to the mountain. I pray that these pilgrims will see God’s love and faithfulness in their lives and that in everything we give all Glory to Him. Only God is worthy to be praised!
