A Message from the "R" He Is My Rock. That’s not only the theme of E-146 but also a description of my life in Christ these days. I am praying that the team and the pilgrims of E-146 will join me in relying more and more on God. The weekend scripture is Psalm 62 ~ 5-8 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he alone is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. The phrases that touch me most are, “in God alone” and, “My salvation and my honor depend on God.” My wish is to be increasingly dependent on God and less reliant on myself and the world. The theme song, Steps Of Faith, is not well known but it too has words that capture my desire. One verse shares, “I can’t use the gifts you’ve given on my own.” And another states, “ I can’t share the words you’ve spoken n my own.” The chorus takes me right to a place of kneeling on the Rock at the foot of the Cross with the lyric, “O, Lord help me to live my life in you.” E-146 is blessed to be standing on the solid foundation of the long NCAE history of awakening the need for more of Him and less of ourselves. The team is very aware that we are part of a larger community that makes the weekend possible and we feel the prayers and all the other support with gratitude. I am only one of 24 on the team but just read the names of the weekends on which I have served (and, please recall the weekends of your own journey as you read mine) and you will glimpse the way the Lord has directed the path of this one pilgrim. Here is my list ~ Victory In Jesus, Blessed to be a Blessing, Shine Jesus Shine, Worthy of Worship and Praise, How Deep the Father’s Love for Us, Fix Your Eyes on Jesus, Go Light Your World, Whispering Hope and now, He is my Rock. Like a mosaic, these weekends have taken me deeper into relationship with Him. As I listen to the team, the same growth and changing relationship is revealed in their journeys. We are eager to stand on our Rock and extend once again the invitation to Be LOVED and to BE Love. DeColores Hugs! Kathy Skilton
