A Message from the WLD Greetings to all the saints of National Capital Emmaus from the men of E-129. We thank you for your prayers for us as God prepares our hearts and minds to be His hands and feet. Our theme verse is John 14:12-14, "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." In verse 12 Jesus tells his disciples something rather remarkable and I would say scary. How could they do greater things than Jesus. You have think there is one of those "pregnant pauses" before verse 13 where all the disciples of this stunned look on their faces. My guess is Thomas broke the silence by asking how is this possible. Jesus answer in verse 13 is that whatever you need to do what I ask you to do I will give you. Aren't we like that in those times when we are asked to do something for the body of Christ, whether it is in service within our church or community, or an assignment on an Emmaus weekend. We come up with a lot of reasons why we don't want to do something. Yet Jesus tells us that all we have to do is ask Him for what is needed. Isn't that what Emmaus is about, especially when we pray the Prayer to the Holy Spirit? Equipping the saints by asking "In Jesus Name". Continue to pray for us and for the pilgrims as they consider their response to God's call to attend E-129. De Colores!
