A Message from the WLD Picture this: You’re driving or walking down a road. You look up and what do you see? I see the sun / Son shining through the clouds, guiding my path. No matter what type of clouds (challenges) are in the sky (in our lives), the sun (The SON) will always be there to light our way, whether we see it, or are conscious of it, or not. “. . .Lo I am with you always, even to the close of the age.” – Matthew 28:20b XX The Scriptures that are the focus of the theme of the weekend
are as follows: XX A dear Sister in Christ, who lives in St. Louis, has a plaque in her kitchen that says, “After the clouds comes the sun.” I prefer to think of this as “Through the clouds comes The Sonshine.” Whether we’re experiencing wispy, cirrus clouds (light, joyous times in our lives), more dense cumulus clouds, the kind that seem to form shapes in the sky, with much moisture (some challenges, but not thunder clouds), or cumulonimbus clouds, storm clouds that are densely filled with moisture (challenges in our lives), The Lord’s Light continues to shine, whether it’s exceptionally evident or seemingly hidden by the clouds (challenges). Of this be assured. XX With all of this said, why did I feel strongly that the theme should be “YOU Are The Light!”? Those exact words? As I prayed about the weekend, seeking guidance, the song “You Are The Light” kept coming to mind, over and over again, day after day. (The Lord had put this message on Karen Elgin’s heart and inspired her to write this beautiful song, praising God and glorifying God’s Name.) Here are excerpts from the song: “You are The Light in which to guide me, If I find myself inside a place where I see no way
out You are The Light. . .” XX As we continue on
our lives’ journeys, may
we be ever mindful of The SON guiding our paths. “Through the clouds,
no matter what kind they are, may we always see the Sonshine.” And may
we also continue to radiate Christ’s Light and Love for all to see instead
of hiding that light under a bushel.
